Our 4th Annual Plant Sale, held on Saturday, May 14th, was nothing short of inspiring. Local gardeners were out early and in force to buy their plants and support the Westchester Food Pantry. We increased both the variety and quantity of plants from last year's sale, offering hundreds of hardy little herb, veggie, flower, and house plants. Despite the extra plants, we still managed to virtually sell out!
The community contributed $2,412 to the pantry through plant sales and donations, bringing our running total of funds contributed to the pantry to over $14,500! At May's monthly meeting, we presented an impressive ceremonial check to Westchester Food Pantry Executive Director, Amanda Grant, who stopped by to share words of thanks.
Thank you to everyone that showed up at our plant sale to purchase plants or just to make a donation--- the pantry will put those funds to good use.
Be sure to join us for our next pantry fundraising event--- our 4th Annual Westchester Garden Walk! Head over to our Events page to learn more and buy your reduced rate early bird tickets.
